This weekend I went all in on my favorite cigars and stocked up a little too heavy on Padróns. I had three Padrón 90th Anniversary Naturals, one Padrón 1964, a few My Father Blues, Oliva Melanios, and several other classics that never disappoint.

I decided to indulge since a good friend came to town. We shared a couple bottles of Macallan 12 Sherry Oak and Double Cask, and every pour was perfect. The weather couldn’t have been better—cool enough for a jacket, a light breeze in the air, and a perfect view to match.

The real star of the weekend was the Padrón 1926 90th Anniversary. As you’d expect, it’s an exceptional cigar. My only complaint is that when I finish one, I immediately want another. The flavors come together beautifully, and when you retrohale, you get a smooth, creamy richness that pairs perfectly with Macallan 12 or a strong espresso.

If I had to choose one cigar to smoke for the rest of my life, this would be it. At around $40 per stick, it’s worth every cent in my eyes. You don’t smoke a Padrón because your friends are over—your friends come over because you’re having a Padrón.

If you know anyone who appreciates a great cigar, gift them this one and I can guarantee they won’t be disappointed. As of now, the Padrón 1926 90th Anniversary holds the title as my new number one favorite cigar.
